New Death Cab

New Death Cab for Cutie album comes out shortly. You can check out the initial single here. Or, even better, listen to the whole album and check out live videos of some of the new stuff here! I'm also going to see them in concert in October, hurray.

Just finished watching all 3 seasons of Roswell recently. Really good show, and they definitely could have kept it interesting for another season at least, but it still ended well.

New Eyes

The surgery went fine. Took about 5 minutes or so, and while it was extremely strange and uncomfortable, wasn't really that big a deal in the scheme of things. My eyes will be in a state of transition for awhile now, so its too early to say where things will end up, but at the moment I have 20/20 vision but can't really see at night(all light sources are extra blurry/have halos/etc). This also includes monitors unfortunately, working is going to be annoying for a bit. :)

On the plus side, projected light, like from my projector, is viewable just fine and dandy! ;)

Tomorrow

Possibly last update for a bit since surgery is tomorrow!

So I was doing some more unpacking/cleaning, finishing up some of the last remaining stuff, and stumbled across a bunch of old yearbooks and such dating back as far as the 4th grade. Two things I have to say about this...

One, I don't remember a single thing about anyone from my senior class that I'm not currently in contact with now(like Toby). There were people in that class that I attended school with from the 5th grade on and I have no amusing anecdotes to recall and not even a glimmer of remembrance about what their personalities were like. Is my memory really that bad? How horrible!

Two, I found someone else's yearbook. Tasha Burwinkle, if you are out there somewhere in cyberspace wondering where your 8th grade yearbook is, I have somehow managed to acquire it. Don't ask me how. The odd thing is whereas I don't remember anything about my fellow seniors, I DO remember some about the 8th grade. I think she and Travis Vigil were dating, and he was a good friend of mine, so maybe it ended up at my house at some point? Who knows.

Wedding Crashers

Wedding Crashers was absolutely hilarious. I highly recommend seeing it.

Went down to the Springs to hang out with Jason and Melissa this past weekend. Jason will now be gone first to Texas, then to Iraq, for the next year and a half +. I saw a couple local bands while I was down there. Grindscape is what you'd expect from a death metal band, ie, unintelligible, and kind of funny, but not very musically interesting. Habitual was actually pretty good and they fall under the "Bands sort of like Rage" category.

This is before Jason destroyed me at foosball.

This week at work has been fairly busy. Coworkers on vacation makes for a busy Malek. Also, two decently young people who I work with have died in the last couple weeks now from random causes, so feeling my mortality!
