Thrust!

John Kerry was on the Daily Show on Tuesday, you can watch the interview here.

I am soooo not ready for my trip to California, but oh well, leaving tomorrow. Won't be updating until I get back on Wednesday, so for now, I leave you with the thrusting stormtrooper that I stole from god knows where.

Spammers Must Die!

I swear to god I am going to become a vigilante whose sole purpose is to track down and murder spammers in the most hideous ways possible. I just deleted about 25 rogue comments that came in over the last day or so advertising casinos, and various pharma products. Oh so much fun.

You fuckers in France and Belgium are a bit out of my reach at the moment, so maybe I'll just vote for Bush and we'll come bomb your countries. ;) However, Mr. R. Garcia in Azusa, CA... I'm coming to California this weekend so you better lock your fucking doors. The internet is NOT fucking anonymous, and I CAN and WILL track your ass down and cause you some form of grief, count on it!

This public service announcement was brought to you by the letters F and U.

Busy week

I have a lot to get done this week. Most importantly, I just realized that I haven't renewed my registration, which expired last month. My month of leeway for renewal runs out on the 31st....whoopsy. Gotta go do that ASAP. I also need to just generally prepare for my trip out to California on Friday.

I saw Manchurian Candidate yesterday. This movie was really creepy. I can't think of a better word for it. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet, its still sinking in, but I do think it was good. Linda didn't like it however, and I can understand why that is...so your mileage may vary. For what its worth, the experience to me is somewhat the same as it was reading 1984 by Orwell. Creepy.

I also finally finished watching the end of the X-files. Very satisfying conclusion to the series imho and I still don't really understand why so many hard core fans hated the last few seasons(Sure, serious lack of Mulder, but it had other redeeming qualities).

Chinese Cop ropes out of a window and caps a kidnapper in the head. Kidnapper falls 5 stories to his death? Before cremation he is discovered to still be alive and rushed to a hospital. Craziness! Clicky click for John Wu'esque pictures.

New Bjork!

A new Bjork cd comes out on August 31st. How nice of her to remember my birthday, she is so sweet. :)

Listen to snippets from the new album or watch the video for the single Oceania that she sang at the Olympics with the Medulla player.

Garden State

I went to the Mayan this morning and caught a showing of Garden State. I give it my highest recommendation and suggest you go see it. Both elitist snobs like myself, and common no taste in movies asshats should derive enjoyment from it. :) 5 stars. And I loved the soundtrack so much I went out and bought it before coming into work today. The highlights for me are the remake of the postal service song "Such Great Heights" by Iron and Wine and Frou Frou's "Let Go", but all the music was great.

I also saw Harold and Kumar this weekend. Really fun movie, and all I have to say is the cheetah is awesome. ;)

Wow, I've like, let myself go the last few weeks. Too much fast food, not enough working out...think I'm up to 190 now. ugh. Gonna jump back on the lose weight train for a few weeks to get back to normal, or at least what passes for normal now for me. :)

They will see us waving from such great heights
"Come down now," they'll say
But everything looks perfect from far away
"Come down now," but we'll stay

Doozer Sticks

The spiders have not relented yet. But Carrie provided me with a selection of wonderful tips to try and eliminate them, which I will be enacting at least some of soon. *Crosses fingers*

They are releasing Fraggle Rock on DVD! Holy shit, never thought I'd see the day. Apparently though it is only available through a couple sites and not generally, until late october. You can read all about it on this awesome henson/muppet/etc news site that I stumbled across. Go check it out!

I just recently got around to watching a few episodes of the new USA limited series, the 4400. It definitely has a bit of a TV movie feel, which, is not so good, but over all its pretty entertaining and the concept is a fun one.

Bush wants to harm the US

Hahah, this is too good to make up:

"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we," Bush said.

There is a new show that will start airing on ABC in September called Lost. Its from the creator of Alias, which I've never watched. Anyway, I managed to get an early look at the pilot, and its fucking awesome, so just a heads up to watch this when it airs. I can't give it a description that sounds even remotely good, but the essential premise is a plane that ends up off course and crashes on a remote island. 44 people survive and have to make do/try to get off/whatever. Due to some...oddities...involving the wildlife on the island, things are made much more difficult. I can not WAIT until this show starts airing for real so I can find out what happens next.

Looks like I am going down to California for my cousin Eman's wedding. I'll be down there from August 27th-September 1st. Other than that, nothing too exciting happening. I'll probably veg this weekend, although Jason may come up for a look at the place on Saturday.

The Village

So I saw The Village and I have to say I really don't know what everyones problem is. This was a really great film and I enjoyed it highly. Maybe my expectations were properly set by the hooplah of how many people don't like it, but I really don't think thats the case. I think I am just more receptive to true quality as opposed to something packaged for mass market consumption. How's that for arrogance?
