Powerful. Devastating. Bloody. Violent. Moving.
I thought this film was incredibly well done. The Passion makes any other film about the life of Jesus seem like a pale pretender in the shadows of its stark harsh light. Anti-Semitic? I really don't see how. Unless you think the Bible is Anti-Semitic. There really isn't much in the way of dramatic license taken here, things play out as I remember them from my first 15 years of life on this planet as a Catholic. And although, for all intents and purposes, I am an Agnostic now...I do have to cave to the potential bias that early influence on me might have had on my appreciation for this movie, so do take my words with that in mind.
The two major criticisms of this movie deal with the supposed Anti-Semitism which I've already covered, and the extreme brutality displayed. I do have to tell you, that even the most jaded person when it comes to movie gore(ie, me) was pretty horrified during much of this film. But, there-in lies some of the point, some of the impact, and a good portion of the message this film is presenting.
I could probably write an entire essay, but I'll stop here. I've imparted what I need to. 5 stars.
This week was Malek catches the horrible cold/flu that everyone else has week. Been pretty much out of commission all week, was out from work two days. I'm still sick now, but at least its getting better finally. uuuuuuugh.
*sniffle* *cough*
My step-dad Freddie has two sons from his first wife a long long time ago. He hasn't seen them though, as his ex-wife is a vicious hag of a woman who would do just about anything to make her life easier and other peoples more difficult(lying, cheating, stealing, whatever). I'm not going to get into a long drawn out story, but needless to say, Freddie was suddenly given the opportunity to meet his sons(who thought he was dead). Here is a photo of Cody, Freddie, and Clinton:

And, from a couple weeks back, here is a photo of me and my aunt Nancy:

I finally finished Crimson Skies. Great game! Anyone that owns an xbox should own this game. I've now moved on to playing that game I won in the contest, Broken Sword. So far its pretty fun, its not of Grim Fandago or Sam & Max calibre, but still entertaining. The only issue I have is that it has some really insane load times.
I ripped the below from Gone Gold because I found it so amusing:
HOW TO KNOW YOU'RE TOO DEEPLY INTO GAMING #100
This brilliant submission is by Chris Dubaj: I started playing text-based muds back in 1993. Working diligently at my favorite MUD, I eventually was elevated to divine status. With continued efforts, I graduated from demi-god to god. One night, while huddled close to my computer screen, my wife came up and confronted me. "What," she said, "can they do for you that I can't?" Her hands were thrust into her hips and she glared into my eyes. Without even thinking, I answered, "They're building me a temple." She blinked once or twice and her expression softened. "Oh," she said. "Never mind, then."
Hurray for 1600 dollars back from the government! :) Yes, I know I should edit my withholding so that I get more money back during the year, but the government savings plan works well for me!
House stuff continues to move forward at a snails pace, however, everything continues to look good. Official closing date will be March 19th.

Man getting pummeled by roman candles. -- Thanks for that Tommy.
I was reading up on Japan and came across something about giant hornets that live in the mountains of Japan. Check out the 4 minute movie on this page about them. -- They are apparently 5 times the size of a standard european honey bee. Yeah, thats scary as hell. hehe. The video is kind of cool and dramatic and is about the giant hornets assaulting a bee hive. I definitely recommend giving it a watch.

Brief me stuff: Had a great weekend and a couple more nice dates with the new woman, but as of tonight we are no longer dating. Our interest levels don't jive, no big deal really. My loan officer called me today and let me know that everything is spiffy in that department. House stuff continues to move forward, but still a long way to go.
Oh! And for those of you that know my friend and old roomie Eric, know that he was just recently in the hospital for an abnormal heart thing. He's ok now, and home again, but it was pretty scary.

"I love you, you're perfect, now change" is an absolutely fantastic play/musical and I recommend anyone see it given the chance. Movie-wise I also caught "Girl with a pearl earring" and "Whale Rider." Both were really excellent.
I think this is the first time I've won any kind of contest really. Look here to see my name in lights. I won an xbox game that I've never heard of, but it looks like it might be fun. :)
It has been a relatively uneventful week. Its been snowing here in Denver off and on now for a little over a week now though, very wintery. Tomorrow I need to go get my oil changed I think, since the oil light just popped on, on my way to work and its been a dogs age since I've had it done. Tomorrow night I attend the musical "I love you, you're perfect, now change" with the lovely lady from last week.

Kelly posting this the other day reminded me that there could possibly be some people out there who have yet to experience it.... So, here is the video for the Radiohead/Unkle song "Rabbit in your headlights." Just right click and save as. Its probably one of the most moving song/video combinations, ever.
My initial offer wasn't accepted outright and a counteroffer was made, which I accepted as it wasn't that big a difference, the major difference was closing date. So house-wise, things continue to progress nicely. If all continues to go well, then I'll close on this condo in mid-March.
Also, I just got back from a fantastic first date with a really great woman. Yay. :)

I now provide you with a link to a french man wearing a horn suit and playing music. ;) Its pretty entertaining.
