Sorry!!!

I'm sorry for the delay on getting the journal/pics up. I just haven't had *any* time since I've been back, just catching up on work, finances, friendship, etc after my long absence. I finally have all my pictures photoshopped and uploaded, now I just need to finish typing up my stories to go along with them. Soon(TM)

It will be up Sunday at the latest!! =) In the interim, here are 3 more photos, chosen seemingly at random:

A couple pictures

It's taking me a looooooooong time to get all my photos web ready, not to mention my journal entries/stories. So here is a sneak preview. :)

(Click pictures for bigger version)

Me in Ephesus:

Me on top of Mt. Nemrut, taking a picture of myself...so pardon the blur:

That is a rarity by the way... Not often that I get caught laughing/smiling that big on camera. I normally go into my "stoic smile with no teeth" pose for pictures. :) But just the thought of taking my own picture like that and where I was was cracking me up. =)

Craziness!

When I was in Turkey, one of my more common thoughts was, "Oh my God its so fucking hot!" I thought to myself on many an occasion that it would be nice when I was in a better climate again.

For the last two days-ish that I have been back in Denver, the temperature has been very high 90s and humid. Looking at the weather back in Turkey, its been in the low 80s. What the hell?!?! *smirk*

***

I pulled all my pics off my memory cards and put them on my computer today before work. At a quick glance/shuffle through them all, it appears that almost all of them came out like I wanted. Only a few that will be too blurry to salvage. Thats the great thing about a digital camera, knowing right away in most cases how a picture turned out. The only issue is that on a small display its not always easy to see blur. Sadly, one of the pictures I was most looking forward to is one of those few affected by some sick blur. Don't think I can clean it up enough to display. Blah! Blah, I say!

***

My step-mom called me. She ran into one of my cousins(3rd?) the other day. Normally this wouldn't be newsworthy, except for the fact that apparently she decided that I shouldn't still be single and that this cousin would make a good marriage candidate. She wants me to get to know her and such....through email....and provided me her email address(and apparently she is expecting my email....). Yeah right, let me get right on that.

Sure, this cousin is attractive, and she always seemed nice enough in my extremely limited interactions with her... But, can you say UNCOMFORTABLE? I know my step-mom means well, and I know this is considerably far removed from the more typical old school arabic arrange marriage things, but still. Sheesh. I probably *will* email, but it will be just to say how crazy I think the whole deal is and to appologize for my crazy step-mom. ;) No offense intended if she reads this someday....I appreciate the effort, really. Just don't do it again. I can get my own dates. Seriously! ;)

Back, finally!

Well,

Let me just state for the record, that British Airways sucks. ;) Thanks to a strike, I got stranded at Heathrow airport on Saturday, and just now finally got home. Full story to come when I put up my journal from this trip. Due in part to the extra time away, extra work missed, etc, may take me a bit to get that and my pics up here. Hopefully by early next week. Updates will probably continue to be sparse until then unless something terribly interesting happens.

Turkish Keyboards are icky

Gaaaah. Typing on this thing is a nightmare. On the bright side, it would be relatively easy for me to type out the turkish words I've learned so far. If I knew how to spell them. hehe

Anyway, real update will come when I get home and can type in my regularly wordy fashion without the frustration of having to almost hunt and peck while I type.

But for now, just know that I'm having a blast, I've seen a ton in Istanbul thus far. Tonight we take a night bus to Cannukale so I can do the Troy tour stuff.

Oh! One more thing. At the Bazaar today I saw some really unique and beautiful paintings done on leaves. Soooo cool. This guy, Nick, has a website. I'll edit it into a link when I am back in the states, but for now here's the address: Nick`s Calligraphy

I think I might buy one when I come back to Istanbul at the end of my trip.

Off I go!

My clothes are all washed. Everything is packed. All that is left now is to get some sleep, wake up and get ready, and head to the airport(with a quick stop at the bank beforehand). I'm quite excited. :)

I'll try to make a few updates from abroad, but no promises. I'll keep a log of what I'm doing regardless though, and can make multiple updates when I get back(evening of the 19th) based on that. ;)

Weightloss Update: 188lbs.
